What To Do in 2022 in Downtown Spartanburg

Now that the calendar has officially turned to 2022, ditch the boring, typical New Years resolutions and resolve to experience all Downtown Spartanburg has to offer over the next 12 months.

Lucky for you, we’ve got an easy to-do list in 2022 at the ready.

Get Competitive

When you combine being a lumberjack with darts, it can be hard not to get competitive.

Craft Axe Throwing

The game at Craft Axe Throwing is simple: throw hatches at a giant, wooden target, earning points the closer you are to a bullseye. Craft Axe Throwing is a great way to spend a cold or rainy day, and a solid way to earn a new skill at the same time. (And its proximity to RJ Rockers doesn’t hurt, either.)

UnderPin Lanes ‘N Lounge

Who doesn’t love 10 frames and the sound of pins falling over?

UnderPin Lanes ‘N Lounge, Spartanburg’s modern bowling alley, features eight full-service lanes and a bar serving premium beer and cocktails. Make a trip to UnderPin complete before or after you roll with some barbecue at Initial Q.

FR8yard, along with live music, great food and even better drinks, is home to a ping-pong set up and cornhole, so don’t be afraid to let your competitive juices flow the next time you stop by.

Jam to Live Music

Spartanburg is home to some truly talented local musicians, so make sure you enjoy some shows this year!

Music on Main will start in the summer, and FR8yard’s live music – which you can find almost every night when they’re open – kicks back off when they return in March. Also, performers with the Chapman Cultural Center can be found along the streets of downtown to make your walk to a restaurant or shop a little more pleasant.

And don’t miss out on performances by the Spartanburg Philharmonic and events at the Chapman Cultural Center.

Shop Local

Spruce up your own wardrobe, add something special to your next kitchen creation or make gift-giving easy by shopping at any of the local retailers that call Downtown Spartanburg home.

Change Up Your Caffeination

Start your day, or keep your energy going, with a visit to any of the eclectic coffee spots that call Downtown Spartanburg home.

Local favorite Little River Roasting has something to satisfy any caffeine craving, and if you’re feeling adventurous, check out the prescribed drinks at The Pharmacy. The unique concoctions are updated each season, so check The Pharmacy’s social media for the latest unique creations available.

And if you want a sweet pick-me-up, Spill the Beans’ coffee and milkshakes, including their popular espresso milkshake, can be ordered to-go.

Splurge on Dessert

Speaking of sweets, next time you’re out for a meal, treat yourself, and get a little something for dessert.

Whether you want something cold from Hub City Scoops or Rocky Moo, luxurious cakes from Sophia’s or Smallcakes Spartanburg, downtown has your sweet tooth covered.

Feast Your Eyes on Our Art
