Downtown Spartanburg’s Best Pub Grub

Downtown Spartanburg has something for every culinary taste and every price range. But sometimes, it’s not a multi-course meal you’re hungry for; it’s wings, fries and a cold beer. Sometimes, you’ve just got to throw that diet plan out the window and follow your gut.

A downtown mainstay, Main Street Pub is the center of Spartanburg’s pub grub options, with classics like burgers, tacos, nachos and more.

But most notably, Main Street Pub’s jumbo wings are a post-happy hour favorite, with sauce options from hot to garlic parmesan, and dry rub wigs featuring Cuban Adobo and cheddar ranch rubs, among others.

Main Street’s dinner options include an expanded menu with appetizers like fried jalapenos, and an extensive build-your-own meal portion. Burgers can be customized with choice of patty and topping, and potato chips, tots or French fries can be topped with everything from pimento cheese or queso to jalapenos, pico de gallo, a fried egg, and chili.

Just up the street is Wild Wing Café, and its menu of popular options like quesadillas, burgers and more. But let’s be honest, if you’re at Wild Wing downtown, you’re chomping down on some chicken wings.

Wild Wing features dozens of flavor options like medium, hot, and Atomic Meltdown (the hottest sauce offered there), and tamer choices like Wild West and Gold Rush honey BBQ.

Spartanburg’s Irish pub, Delaney’s melds Irish classics with appetizers any Southern diner would recognize like fried pickles, fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, and jalapeno poppers. Delaney’s wing options come with several sauce choices, and for the truly hungry, the menu includes burgers and piled-high cheesesteaks and hoagies.

FR8yard, a downtown favorite for all things food and drink, have a menu full of delicious food that’s as easy to eat sitting down as it is standing up, enjoying some live music.

FR8yard bratwurst

FR8yard’s Yard Dogs come in traditional hot dog form, or a bratwurst with the traditional German toppings. The menu also includes grilled cheeses and the ever-popular Street Meet – chargrilled chicken on a stick – that are coated in one of three delicious sauce options.

Not to be outdone, FR8yard’s snack offerings include pretzel nuggets, FR8 fries, and for those with a sweet tooth after a drink or two, churros.

One of Spartanburg’s most popular burgers can be found at Nu Way Restaurant and Lounge, a pub staple for Spartanburgers for years. Nu Way’s creatively-named burger options feature unique toppings piled high, the perfect accompaniment for that cold, after-work beverage.

Growler Haus’ spinach artichoke dip with pita chips

With an array of craft beer options, Growler Haus menu of food shouldn’t be slept on. It features Biergarten soft pretzels with salt, parmesan, Everything Bagel and cinnamon-sugar toppings, and dips including IPA Mustard, Hop Pesto and honey ready for dunking.

There’s also cheesy bread and a rotating list of sandwiches and flatbreads.
